Andrea was a bride who knew what she wanted and where to get it! We assisted Andrea with her print design, including wedding invitations and programs. We also helped coordinate her ceremony and reception decor, along with set-up and tear-down. Her wasabi and graphite color palette was perfect for a winter South Dakota wedding, however, the lack of snow was a little disappointing for the couple! The ceremony and reception both took place at the Washington Pavilion, the ceremony in the Belbas Theatre and the reception in the 2nd floor lobby. These “Guy” and “Gal” emergency baskets created by a client of ours. These are such a great idea and were used throughout the day at the various locations, including the restrooms at the reception that evening. We even created custom tags to match the other wedding print elements – you can’t get much more detailed than that!

What: A standard invitation ensemble includes and invitation, a reception card, an RSVP card or postcard and an outer envelope.

Where: If you order locally you can see the papers and ink colors in person.

When: Mail your invitations 6-8 weeks before the wedding date, so be sure to order at least 5 months prior.

How Many: Be sure you have enough for the guest list, the wedding party and your parents. You can always order extra envelopes in case of mistakes!

We often get asked about timelines, deadlines and mail dates from invitation clients. Here is an official timeline for ordering and sending out wedding invitations. If you follow this, you will be allowing ample time for design, production and mailing.

12-8 Months – Mail save-the-date cards. If you are having a destination or wedding on a holiday this is most important
6 Months – After choosing a wedding style and budget, shop for invitations
5 Months – Order your invitations
3 Months – Start addressing envelopes. Assemble and weigh one complete invitation to figure out correct postage
2 Months – Mail your invitations
1 Month – Your RSVPs should start arriving
3 Weeks – A few days following your RSVP date, call anyone who hasn’t sent in a response
